Instrumental support: Somebody or something that helps with the tangible and practical factors necessary to adhere to the exercise plan and goals. Examples include a Trainer or Coach, a fitness facility, a designated training area, equipment, a babysitter and a spotter.
Emotional support: People around us that express their support through encouragement, caring, empathy and concern.
Informational support: Personal Trainers can help with knowledge of what types of exercises to do, how to execute correct form and to help you assess your progress.
Companionship support: The most familiar type of support. Companionship support includes the availability of family, friends and coworkers that you workout with. The workout buddy!
