Functional Fitness

Functional fitness! It is becoming increasingly popular. But what does it mean?

Let's start with a key factor of fitness:

Pain is never an option. Fitness should be a pain free way of life. Pain is not functional! (Pain should not be confused with delayed onset muscle soreness.)

Fitness is based on science and the way our bodies work. We are composed of a human movement system and when part of our system is down our movement becomes altered. An altered movement system creates discomfort and even pain.

Functional fitness means we are doing full body workouts, within normal ranges of motion. Training our bodies not just for strength gain in particular muscles but for strength, agility and functional pain free movement in our everyday lives.
